Navi Mumbai :- Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has kick-started the Ayushman Bhav campaign with the gracious initiation by India’s President, Mahamahim Draupadi Murm. This campaign, which runs from September 17th to December 31st, 2022, aims to provide various healthcare services to the citizens. Every Saturday, the Ayushman Arogya Melava (Health Checkup Camp) is organized as part of this initiative, under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Health Department.
On September 30, 2023, the health checkup camp was held for patients with tuberculosis, leprosy, and other communicable diseases at various civic health centers and primary healthcare centers. The camp offered checkups for sanitation workers, patients with tuberculosis and leprosy, as well as those with diabetes and high blood pressure. Services included X-ray examinations, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and more. Additionally, health camps for construction workers were organized at construction sites, conducting medical examinations for laborers. In total, approximately 3137 individuals received health checkups during the ongoing health camp.
Furthermore, during these health camps, residents were encouraged to pledge for organ donation and Aadhaar card enrollment was facilitated. The response from citizens during the September 30th health camp was overwhelming, with a high level of participation and enthusiasm.
The next Ayushman Arogya Melava is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023, where maternal health checkups will be conducted for all pregnant women. The campaign will continue to be organized every Saturday until December 31, 2023, with a call to the citizens to actively participate and make this initiative a grand success, as emphasized by Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
