Navi Mumbai :- In a significant move, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has introduced a welfare plan aimed at benefiting 326 employees, who have been awaiting the implementation of the Assured Progression Scheme for several years. This long-awaited initiative, coupled with promotions, has created a sense of optimism among the workforce.
The Assured Progression Scheme, which has been pending for a considerable time, was finally set into motion under the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar. This initiative holds special importance as it impacts various categories of employees in the municipality.
A total of 866 municipal officers and employees from diverse categories had been brought under the Assured Progression Scheme over the past two years, and now, an additional 326 employees from 17 different categories have benefited from the scheme, bringing the total to 1192 employees across different roles. Notably, this includes 11 fire personnel, 4 telephone operators, 3 accountants, 63 office clerks, 1 vocational instructor, 1 art teacher, 2 computer teachers, 1 music teacher, 35 peons, 30 sanitation workers, 2 assistant plumbers, 15 cemetery caretakers, 141 staff nurses, 3 female medical experts, 8 pediatric experts, 5 laboratory assistants, and 1 dialysis technician.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is well-known for its commitment to cleanliness and various amenities, making it one of the leading cities in the country.
