At present, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has provided 200 ICU beds and 80 ventilators in Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital, Nerul. In the first phase out of 100 ICU beds and 40 ventilators planned at MGM Hospital at Kamothe, 20 ICU beds and 10 ventilators have been commissioned from today.

On 13th April, the Guardian Minister of Thane District and Urban Development Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Eknath Shinde inspected the work here and directed the Municipal Commissioner Mr. Abhijeet Bangar to make this facility available for the service of the citizens as soon as possible. In line with this, 10 Vetilators with 20 ICU beds have been started in just four days. This will go some way to eliminating the problem of corona obstruction in the availability of ICU beds and ventilators. The remaining ICU beds and ventilators are being made available in phases over the next 10 days.

The Commissioner pays close attention to the daily cowardly situation by reviewing it through web communication.

Every evening from 7 pm, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Abhijeet Bangar regularly holds 3 to 4 hour web conversations with the nodal officers of the corporation in all the private hospitals as well as the medical officers of all the civic health centers as well as the assistant commissioners of all the departments and officials of the health department and other departments. From this, the direction of further action is being decided. It is directed to emphasize adherence to treatment protocol as well as discharge protocol and is being reviewed hospital wise. Apart from this, details like availability of beds, ambulance, oxygen, medicine stock, tracing of patient contact, effective implementation of containment zone are also being studied and improvements are being suggested.

While the corporation is focusing on increasing the number of health facilities, it is also paying close attention to the implementation of Corona preventive measures. The co-operation of the citizens is paramount in this and it is being suggested that the citizens should strictly abide by the curfew imposed on them as per the ‘Break the Chain’ order. Citizens should avoid outdoors as much as possible to break the chain of corona infection and wear full-time masks if they are out for some time for essential matters and follow safe distance rules and keep their hands clean regularly keeping in mind that they will not be crowded anywhere. Such an appeal was made by Municipal Commissioner Mr. Abhijeet Bangar.
