Navi Mumbai : “Our main goal is to reduce the mortality rate by breaking the corona chain as soon as possible by detecting corona inhibitors and quickly isolating them and focusing more on antigen testing of people in close contact with them” Such clear instructions were given by the Municipal Commissioner Shri. Abhijeet Bangar on the occasion of the review meeting of Ghansoli division office to Divisional Officer and Health Officer yesterday. He also instructed the police inspectors to ensure that the lockdown rules are followed in the third category of containment zones.
What are the various measures being taken to prevent the spread of Covid 19 actually implemented at the departmental level?
Municipal Commissioner Shri. Abhijeet Bangar visited department offices on Monday the 27th and made valuable suggestions while visiting the Ghansoli divisional office. Additional Commissioner Shri. Sanjay Kakade, Deputy Commissioner of Circle 2 Shri. Amrish Patnigere and other officials were also present.
The Ghansoli division covers a large number of villages and slums in the MIDC area and the commissioner asked them to pay more attention to these areas. He said that special care should be taken of senior citizens as well as persons suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and other ailments such as heart disease. The commissioner directed to expedite the search, investigation and segregation drive keeping in view the need for early detection of corona infection in the effective implementation of ‘Mission Break the Chain’.
The commissioner directed to give priority to strict implementation of lockdown in collaboration with the police department in the third type of containment zone. Considering the geographical location of the place, he suggested that barricading should be done in such a way that citizens would not be able to come and go, and that there should be 24-hour police presence. Strict lockdowns should be observed in this area without allowing anyone to come and go except for those who go out for health care and emergency services only. The commissioner also suggested that arrangements should be made through the local department office to provide essential items like medicines, vegetables, food grains to the citizens of the containment zone during this period in compliance with the lockdown rules.
Immediate action should be taken to disinfect the area and put up a restricted area sign after finding a corona positive person. Explaining this, the commissioner also clarified that the search for persons in close contact with the positive person should be started immediately. The Commissioner also suggested that for the successful implementation of all these matters, the cooperation of the local people’s representative’s along with society members and the office bearers of the colony should be sought.
Containment zones are being declared in areas where corona is found to have infected a person and access to this area is restricted. This is being done in the interest of the health of the citizens so that the corona virus does not spread and the citizens should fully abide by the rules of lockdown.
