Mira Bhayandar :- In a significant move, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation has initiated a crackdown on unauthorized construction within the jurisdiction of Prabhag Committee No. 03. This operation, executed with the support of the local police, aims to address rampant illegal construction in the area.
Under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Shripatraw Katkar, the Municipal Commissioner, multiple unauthorized structures including commercial spaces, hotels, bars, garages, and unapproved hoardings are being targeted for legal action. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to curb unauthorized construction and promote the responsible use of land in the municipality.
On October 10, 2023, in the Bhayandar East area, near the Indralok Police Station and adjacent to Reservation No. 122 D, the enforcement team took action against 43 unauthorized huts. In the Navghar region, 15 unauthorized huts were also dealt with. During these actions, one demolition crane, a JCB machine, and human resources were deployed for the enforcement process.
Mr. Maruti Gayakwad, an officer in charge of the operation, worked under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Shripatraw Katkar and coordinated the execution of the operation. Various officials from the encroachment department, including Mr. Narendra Chavan, Senior Officer for Encroachment, Mr. Jitendra Kamble, Assistant Commissioner, and Mr. Yogesh Bhoir, Junior Engineer, played a pivotal role in executing this initiative. Additionally, Mr. Rakesh Tribhuvan Kiran Jadhav, the Chief of the Squatter’s Path, along with Mr. Vasanth Pendharkar, the Clerk, and Mr. Dhamma Lokhare, a police officer, contributed to the successful operation.
The operation was conducted in the presence of law enforcement agencies, including police officers and personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force, ensuring that the demolition and enforcement procedures were carried out smoothly and according to the law. This crackdown serves as a stern message to those involved in unauthorized construction, emphasizing the importance of adhering to municipal regulations.
