Navi Mumbai :- In an inspiring initiative to promote cleanliness and civic engagement, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is set to host a massive cleanliness pledge event on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Thousands of students and residents from all across Navi Mumbai will gather in eight different locations to take a collective pledge for cleanliness.
This event is part of the “Indian Swachhta League,” a nationwide movement dedicated to fostering a cleaner and more environmentally responsible India. Navi Mumbai has been at the forefront of this initiative, having earned the prestigious honor of being the top-ranking city for youth participation in the league last year.
Under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and with the support of the New Mumbai Eco Knights, led by Padmashri Shankar Mahadevan, citizens have been actively registering their participation through the league’s website https://innovateindia.mygov.in/islseason2/.
The league has organized various events, including a painting competition in schools across Navi Mumbai, with a remarkable 183,144 students from 431 schools participating. One standout student, Vikram, is set to earn recognition in the “Best of India Records” for his registration in this league.
Navi Mumbai has become synonymous with cleanliness, thanks to the enthusiasm of its cleanliness-conscious citizens. The “Indian Swachhta League 2.0” aims to further elevate the city’s cleanliness standards. The grand event, taking place across eight wards, will witness citizens coming together at 8:00 AM on Sunday, September 17, 2023, to collectively pledge their commitment to cleanliness.
