Mission Divyang Mela “Disabled Welfare Department Divyangane Dari” to be Held in Palghar

Palghar :- In a bid to address the needs and concerns of the disabled community, the “Mission Divyang Mela,” organized under the Dari Abhiyan of the Disabled Welfare Department, is set to take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The event will be held at the Planning Committee Auditorium, located in the Collector’s Office premises in Palghar, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Under the guidance of the Divyang Welfare Department and with the leadership of Omprakash alias Bachchu Kadu, a Member of Legislative Assembly at Ministerial rank, this state-level committee of Divyangs will oversee the implementation of the event.

A press conference was convened to announce the event, presided over by Collector Govind Bodke, and attended by Chief Executive Officer Bhanudas Palve. Notable figures such as Kapil Patil, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Ravindra Chavan, Maharashtra State Minister of Public Works and Guardian Minister of Palghar, and Prakash Nikam, President of G.P. Palghar, will grace the occasion. The event will also witness the presence of Manisha Nimkar, Chairperson of the Social Welfare Committee.

The “Mission Divyang Mela” aims to provide a platform for disabled individuals to interact with 33 stalls representing various government offices, including the Collector’s Office Revenue Department, Palghar Zilla Parishad, Vasai-Virar Metropolitan Municipality, Municipal Corporation, Agriculture Social Welfare Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and more. The event aims to address the challenges faced by disabled individuals and offer solutions to their issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to apply for various schemes and benefits designed for disabled individuals.

During the event, applications for schemes and benefits will be processed, and registration for essential documents such as the UDID card, Aadhaar card, ration card, caste certificate, income certificate, and domicile certificate will be facilitated. The district council has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

The Palghar municipality has taken an additional step to provide free city bus services for disabled attendees, making it easier for them to participate in the event. For those who lack a disability certificate, online registration on the Swavalamban portal will be available through each Gram Panchayat.

Chief Executive Officer Bhanudas Palve encourages disabled individuals from the district to attend the event at the Planning Committee Auditorium, Collector’s Office Palghar, on August 31st. The “Mission Divyang Mela” is poised to provide valuable support and resources to the disabled community, fostering a more inclusive and supportive society.
