Palghar, August 12, 2023 :- In a remarkable initiative, the Women and Child Development Department of Zilla Parishad Palghar has orchestrated a health screening camp to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Anandibai Joshi. The camp is set to take place at Nijyojan Bhawan on August 15 at 10.30 am, under the guidance of Minister Aditi Tatkare, who heads the Women and Child Development Department.
The primary focus of this initiative is the medical assessment of all Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and helpers across the state. Minister Aditi Tatkare has mandated that the health checkups be carried out by doctors from medical colleges between August 15, 2023, and August 31, 2023. In regions where medical colleges are not accessible, the rural department will establish district surgical clinics to ensure comprehensive health examinations.
For Anganwadi workers and helpers, the dean of the local medical college will be contacted to organize medical assessments. In areas lacking medical colleges, the district surgery hospital, under the rural department, will oversee the health checkups. District Program Officer Pravin Bhavsar is coordinating this effort, facilitating communication between medical colleges and the district surgical hospital.
During the designated period, from August 15 to August 31, 2023, the schedule for medical examinations will be finalized. This will encompass all Anganwadi Sevaks, Mini Anganwadi Sevaks, and Helpers within the jurisdiction. In districts where medical colleges are unavailable, the Rural Department’s District Surgical Hospital will ensure that the health assessments are conducted effectively.
This initiative not only pays homage to Dr. Anandibai Joshi but also underscores the commitment of Zilla Parishad Palghar towards the well-being of its workforce. By prioritizing the health of Anganwadi workers and helpers, the Women and Child Development Department is taking a significant step towards a healthier and more resilient community.
