Mira-Bhayander : Ganesha idols are immersed every year in the municipal lake constructed by Mira Bhayander city. Dissolution of POP idols contaminates the water in the lake by chemicals entering the water. Therefore, keeping in mind that the environment should not be degraded, under the guidance of Mira Bhayander Municipal Commissioner Dilip Dhole, Public Works Department has constructed artificial lakes at 4 places in the city and these places have been beautified for Ganeshotsav festival. Mira Road (East) Town Park (Shivar Garden), Bhayander (W) Subhash Chandra Bose Maidan, Bhayander (East) Navghar S.N. College, Mira Road (East) Joggers Park (near the cremation ground), artificial ponds have been constructed at this place.
On 14th September, Municipal Corporation City Engineer Shivaji Barkund along with Municipal Corporation Junior Engineer (Public Works) Nitin Mukne, Water Supply Department Sharad Nanegaonkar and officials inspected the artificial lake, Municipal Corporation constructed lake and Bhayander (West) creek. The inspection was done with a view to beautifying the artificial lake and proper water supply for the festival.
Also, citizens should immerse Ganesha idols in a nearby pond or artificial lake to stop the degradation of the environment. Citizens should not violate the Corona Rules by unnecessarily crowding at the acceptance centers set up by the corporation, in the bay area as well as in the artificial lake area. Also, this year’s Ganeshotsav immersion ceremony should be conducted in an environmentally friendly and peaceful manner by following all the rules of Covid. An army of health service, police administration, fire service and municipal personnel has been deployed at the immersion site. Commissioner Dilip Dhole appealed to the police as well as the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation administration to extend full cooperation.
