Vigilance begins probe into alleged irregularities at Oushadhi

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has begun its preliminary enquiry into allegations of financial irregularities at Oushadhi, a public sector pharmaceutical firm under the Department of AYUSH.
Health Minister K. Muraleedharan had earlier written to the Home Minister, seeking a preliminary VACB enquiry into the allegations against Oushadhi, following damning audit reports on the firm as well as other complaints of financial and operational irregularities he had received from various individuals
Mr. Muraleedharan had also directed the Principal Secretary (Health) to initiate a detailed inquiry through the Finance Inspection Wing into the alleged financial irregularities at Oushadhi
VACB will file an FIR and take up a detailed investigation if the preliminary findings warrant further action.
