Synopsis

State Bank of India on Monday said bank unions have served strike notices for September 11, September 28-30 and a continuous strike from October 26. SBI said it has made arrangements for normal functioning at branches and offices, but warned that work across the bank may nevertheless be impacted.

Bank Unions Nationwide Strike — SBI said bank unions have called strikes on September 11, September 28-30 and from October 26, warning that bank operations may be affected despite arrangements for normal functioning.

State Bank of India on Monday said its operations may be impacted by a series of strikes called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), even as the lender said it has made arrangements to ensure normal functioning of its branches and offices on the strike days.

In a stock exchange filing, SBI said UFBU, on behalf of its seven constituent unions and associations, had served strike notices for September 11; September 28, 29 and 30; and a continuous strike from October 26, 2026.

The bank said it was taking all necessary steps to maintain normal operations at its branches and offices during the proposed strikes.

“However, it is likely that work in the Bank may be impacted by the strike,” SBI said.

The seven UFBU constituents named by SBI are the All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE), All India Bank Officers' Association (AIBOA), Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), Indian National Bank Employees Federation (INBEF) and Indian National Bank Officers' Congress (INBOC).

The filing was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The proposed strike programme includes a one-day strike on September 11, followed by a three-day strike from September 28 to 30. The unions have also proposed a continuous strike beginning October 26.
