People urged to come forward for eye donation

Srikakulam District Medical and Health Officer E.V.N. Naresh Kumar on Tuesday urged people to come forward and pledge their eyes for donation, saying corneal donation after death could help restore vision of people with blindness. As part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight, he flagged off a rally in Srikakulam and called upon all sections of society to promote eye donation in their respective areas.

Srikakulam District Blind Control Society programme manager S. Pushpalatha ophthalmic officers M.R.K. Das, D. Rajasekhar Reddy and others were present.

In another programme, Rotary Club president Netada Eswara Rao distributed spectacles to needy persons at H.B. Colony in Srikakulam. Mr. Das conducted eye tests and recommended suitable spectacles to the beneficiaries.
