IndiGo on Thursday issued a travel advisory for passengers flying to and from Delhi airport, citing expected traffic management and diversions across parts of the city ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, to be held in New Delhi on September 12-13.
"With traffic management and diversions expected across parts of the city, customers travelling to and from Delhi Airport are advised to plan ahead and allow additional travel time," the airline said, asking passengers to check traffic updates and their route before leaving for the airport and to reach well in advance of their scheduled departure.

The advisory comes as Delhi Traffic Police issued a comprehensive advisory ahead of the summit, regulating traffic on more than 35 roads across the city and identifying 22 diversion points, according to the advisory. Roads affected include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Mathura Road, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Panchsheel Marg and Barakhamba Road, among others.
For passengers heading to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi Police has strongly recommended the use of Metro services in view of the traffic restrictions, particularly given the possibility of temporary road holds during VVIP convoy movements. The traffic advisory has also laid out suggested alternate routes to the airport for commuters travelling from Gurugram, Dwarka, New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and North and East Delhi.
Bus services may also face diversions during VIP movement, the advisory noted.

As of now, other major carriers operating out of Delhi have not issued separate advisories specific to the BRICS Summit.
The 18th BRICS Summit, being hosted by India under its 2026 chairship, will bring together heads of state and delegations from BRICS member nations at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
