Hyderabad woman attempts to end life at police outpost near Madanapalle

A 25-year-old woman allegedly attempted to end her life by consuming pesticide at the police outpost in Angallu village of Kurabalakota mandal near Madanapalle on Monday morning (September 7, 2026). The woman claimed that she was forced to take this extreme step after being cheated by a man she met on a matrimony platform and receiving no police action on her complaints.
According to information, the woman, a software engineer from Rampalli in Hyderabad, told the police that a man named Naresh, from Sriramulapalle village in Kurabalakota mandal, had introduced himself to her through a matrimony site two years ago. She alleged that Naresh informed her he was a Telugu actor on television and promised to marry her. Later, he took ₹40 lakh from her and began avoiding her calls. She claimed that although she had filed several complaints with the Mudivedu police in Annamayya district, there had been no action taken. Distressed over the alleged police inaction, she consumed pesticide at the police outpost.
Local people took her to the Government District Hospital in Madanapalle, where doctors said she is under observation and stable. A police officer in Madanapalle said that the case would be verified.
