The 41st National Eye Donation Fortnight, organised from August 25 to September 8, concluded at the Government Regional Eye Hospital on Tuesday. The programme was jointly organised by the District Blindness Control Society and Mohsin Eye Bank.

District Medical and Health Officer P. Jagadeeswara Rao said awareness programmes were conducted in schools and public places, including the RTC Complex and the railway station. District programme manager V. Meenakshi said pamphlets were distributed to 10,000 people and awareness programmes held for 5,000 people. An eye donation awareness rally was also organised on Beach Road on August 30.

Certificates were presented to donor families, students who won essay and elocution competitions, NGOs and medical personnel who participated in the fortnight-long campaign.
