Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Saturday said the United States had put its allies “at risk” for the "sake of Israel", claiming multiple neighbouring countries had reached out to Tehran seeking new security arrangements in the region.
“We’ve received numerous messages from neighboring countries about shaping new security arrangements and economic cooperation in the region,” Ghalibaf said in a post on X.
“The United States put the security of every single one of its allies at such risk through bullying and pure disregard for their interests for the sake of Israel that they briefly saw their entire existence on the line,” the parliamentary speaker added.
He further said that a “homegrown, independent order” could bring peace in the region. Ghalibaf's remarks come amid renewed push among the moderate leaders in Iran towards peace.
