Toxic advance booking: Yash’s film crosses Rs 27 cr milestone; over 4.7 lakh tickets sold

Toxic advance booking: Geethu Mohandas’ action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, starring Yash, is making waves at the domestic box office, even before its release. If the film’s advance booking is anything to go by, Toxic is likely to make a huge dent at the box office, with the native Kannada version dominating all the other dubbed versions.
Toxic advance booking so far
K Venkat Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations opened the advance booking for Toxic on Friday morning. Within a span of just two days, the film has already registered an advance booking of Rs 18.73 crore. More than half of this figure stems from the Kannada version at Rs 9.59 crore. It’s complemented by the Kannada IMAX 2D format (Rs 63.97 lakh) and the Kannada 4DX format (Rs 19.10 lakh).
As per Sacnilk, following the Kannada version is the dubbed Hindi 2D version at Rs 7.65 crore. It’s complemented by the Hindi IMAX 2D format (Rs 20.29 lakh), the Hindi 4DX format (Rs 14.12 lakh), and the Hindi Dolby Cine (Rs 43,400). Trailing the Kannada and Hindi versions is the dubbed Tamil version, at Rs 13.50 lakh), followed by the dubbed Malayalam version (Rs 9.59 lakh) and the dubbed Telugu version (Rs 7.17 lakh).

Thus, the total advance booking of Toxic so far, when combined with block booking, adds up to Rs 27.29 crore from over 4,70,000 tickets sold across India. Even overseas, in the US, the film has surpassed the $146,251 mark. Given the trajectory and trade estimates, Toxic is likely to open in the Rs 30 crore+ range in the domestic Hindi market alone.
With Toxic set to release across over 12,000 screens across the globe, it’s likely to breach the Rs 100 crore mark on its opening day at the worldwide box office. In the event of that, it would become Yash’s third consecutive film to do so after both parts of his popular Kannada action thriller franchise KGF.
Trade projections show that the progress of Toxic at the advance booking windows is much slower than that of his 2022 blockbuster, Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2. However, advance booking for Toxic is opening up gradually worldwide, since the film is still five days away from release. In the coming days, the film is expected to pick up even more momentum.

About Toxic
Co-written by Geethu Mohandas and Yash, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups has been made simultaneously in Kannada and English, and dubbed in four other Indian languages. Hence, it also has a strong global positioning, just like Yash’s next release, Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, in which he plays chief antagonist Ravana.
Toxic also benefits from a pan-India star cast, ranging from Yash and Kantara star Rukmini Vasanth in Kannada, Nayanthara in Tamil and Telugu; and Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria in Hindi. With Geetu representing Malayalam, and the film slated to release in cinemas this Wednesday on Onam, Toxic is likely to register a solid pan-India and global start at the box office.
