Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is just a few days away from its August 26 theatrical release. Starring Yash in the lead, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles, the film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. Despite facing criticism over its bold scenes, Toxic has generated significant buzz and remains among the most anticipated films of the year.
With advance bookings now underway, fans can secure their tickets ahead of the much-awaited release.

According to Sacnilk, as of now, Toxic has already recorded a strong response in advance bookings for Day 1. The film has sold around 1.76 lakh tickets so far and has grossed over Rs 7.58 crore. The total rises to around Rs 13.69 crore when blocked seats are included.

The Kannada version is driving a major portion of the pre-release business, with Karnataka emerging as the film's leading market. The state has recorded around Rs 5.25 crore in gross advance bookings, rising to approximately Rs 8.19 crore including blocked seats. The strong performance in Karnataka does not come as a surprise given Yash's massive popularity in the state.

For the Hindi version, Toxic has also registered notable numbers. Mumbai has recorded approximately Rs 20.03 lakh, rising to Rs 66.18 lakh including blocked seats, while the National Capital Region (NCR) has registered around 30.3 lakh rising to 80.02 lakh including blocked seats.
Among Kannada markets, Bengaluru remains a major contributor with approximately Rs 46.48 lakh in advance bookings, while Mysuru has recorded around Rs 17.5 thousand, Mumbai Rs 17.5 thousand and Pune Rs 94.1 thousand.
CBFC Asks Toxic Makers To Modify Two Words
The film has been awarded an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), meaning it will be restricted to adult audiences.
The censor board has reportedly instructed the makers to mute and replace the phrases “Tevidiya Paiya” and “Tevidiya Pulla” in the Kannada version. The corresponding changes will also have to be made to the English subtitles.
According to the certification details, Toxic has a runtime of 3 hours and 12 minutes. The Kannada-English film was cleared by the CBFC last week.

Apart from these modifications, no cuts have reportedly been ordered. The film will also carry the mandatory anti-smoking and anti-drinking warnings.
With the 'A' certificate, Toxic will be available theatrically only to viewers aged 18 and above.
