Mumbai: The Oshiwara police’s cyber team on Monday recovered filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s hacked X account, days after he complained that he had lost access to it.
The police traced the account history and verified Mishra’s identity, focusing on the 12:53am breach and an unauthorised email change from sudhirmishra.sudhir@gmail.com to valid9031@outlook.com. The team then coordinated with X’s backend processes to reverse the changes.

After regaining access, Mishra thanked Mumbai Police and Oshiwara police’s cyber team, naming senior inspector Sanjay Chavan, sub-inspector Vijay Suresh Sardesai, assistant sub-inspector Ashok Konde and constable Vikram Sarnobat.
In his complaint, Mishra said he was suddenly logged out. X notifications showed an unauthorised iPhone login around 12:53am, after which a security key was added and his registered email address was changed.
