The State government’s flagship Gruha Lakshmi scheme, under which ₹2,000 is provided every month to the woman head of each household, completed three years on Sunday (August 30).

To mark the occasion, the Mysuru palace was illuminated in pink, symbolising women’s empowerment and pride. The illumination attracted the attention of tourists and visitors.

According to a press release, more than ₹76,500 crore has so far been credited to the bank accounts of 1.2 crore beneficiaries under the scheme.
