Mumbai: Kunda Bachhav, a teacher at Savitribai Phule Vidyamandir, Municipal School No. 18 in Anandwali, has been selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2026 in recognition of her innovative, creative and socially committed work in the field of education.
Technology And Innovative Activities Transform Student Learning Experience
Bachhav has contributed to the overall development of students through the effective use of technology, innovative educational activities, promotion of reading culture and initiatives aimed at developing social awareness among students. Her efforts to connect students with the wider world have also helped the Anandwali municipal school establish a distinct identity.
Her work has been guided by the philosophy of “not me, but us”, with Bachhav collaborating with her colleagues to develop and implement initiatives for students. Her selection for the national-level award has been welcomed as recognition of these collective efforts.

Bachhav was also selected for the Sharad Pawar Inspire Fellowship in Education for 2024-25. She has been actively associated with the work of the Shikshan Vikas Manch and the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre.
