Veteran character actor Aasha Singh Jaiswal, known for her roles in Mahabharat, Baazigar and Bobby Jasoos, has died at the age of 83.

“She was a hard working woman, an iron lady. I request all you to pray for the peace and salvation of her soul. I also request you to find her work on social media or wherever you can and watch it so that her soul, wherever it may be, finds comfort in knowing that she is still remembered through her work,” Bharadwaj wrote on Instagram.

Aasha Singh Jaiswal worked in several television shows and films. She played the role of Kripi in Mahabharat, the twin sister of sage Kripacharya who goes on to marry Dronacharya.
