Lorry owners seek permits for goods transport between A.P. and Telangana

The Andhra Pradesh Lorry Owners Association has urged the government to issue counter-signature permits for goods transport vehicles operating between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In a representation submitted to the Secretary of Department of Transport and Roads and Buildings, Kona Sasidhar, on Tuesday, the association’s State general secretary Y.V. Eswara Rao said that although nearly 12 years had passed since the bifurcation of the State, the issue of counter-signature permits for goods vehicles operating between the two States had still not been resolved. He said that due to the shortage of permits, lorry owners were being forced to pay additional taxes, resulting in financial losses.

The association appealed for immediate steps to issue counter-signature permits so that goods vehicles can move freely between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

President of the Krishna District Lorry Owners Association N. Raja was also present.
