A screenshot circulating on social media appears to show Lindsay Clancy’s defense lawyer Kevin Reddington and his wife, Debbie Reddington, seeking to join a Facebook group dedicated to discussing Clancy’s case.

The claim surfaced on X as Clancy’s murder trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court in Massachusetts. An X user posted screenshots on August 14 that appeared to show Facebook administrator controls for a group titled “Lindsay Clancy:~ Monster or Mentally Ill?”

One screenshot displays the name Kevin Reddington above an option stating that the account was being banned from the group. A second screenshot shows the same action for an account named Debbie Reddington. However .com could not independently verify the authenticity of the post and claims made.

What do the viral screenshots show?

The images appear to be screenshots of Facebook's group-management interface. The first shows an account identified as Kevin Reddington being banned from the group, while another displays an account allegedly belonging to Debbie Reddington.

The screen also includes an option to delete recent activity and another to prevent the account from creating future profiles that could join the group.

The X post accompanying the screenshots claimed that Kevin Reddington and his wife Debbie Reddington had tried to join Facebook groups about Lindsay Clancy's case.

However, the screenshots alone do not establish when the accounts requested membership, whether the requests were actually submitted by Reddington or his wife, or whether the accounts are genuinely operated by them.

There is also no evidence in the material reviewed for this report showing that either account successfully became a member of the group.

    Who is Kevin Reddington?

Reddington is the veteran Massachusetts criminal defense attorney representing Clancy, the Duxbury mother accused of killing her three children in January 2023.

According to WBUR, Reddington is pursuing an insanity defense and argues that Clancy was experiencing severe postpartum mental illness and psychosis around the time of the killings.

A recent profile by CT Insider described Reddington as a veteran criminal defense lawyer who has handled more than 100 murder cases during his career.

The trial has attracted intense public interest, with online communities closely following testimony and courtroom developments.

The alleged Facebook activity is attracting attention because the group shown in the screenshots is specifically devoted to discussing whether Clancy should be viewed as a criminally responsible defendant or as someone suffering from severe mental illness, essentially mirroring the central dispute at trial.
