India have managed to shrug off the early run out of Smriti Mandhana to reach 65/1 at the end of powerplay, thanks to some explosive batting from Shafali Varma (33 off 17 balls). Mandhana had scored 19 off 10 balls when she was run out with India on 38 runs. India were asked to bat first after Thailand won the toss.

However, on the positive side, India enter this showpiece event as hot favourites. They have won the competition already three out of the five times.
