Body found after multi-day search
Karen Solomon, who was wanted for questioning over her police officer husband’s death, was found dead after a large search, Worcester police said at a news conference.
Two employees from Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital found a body in the woods near Mill Street and Coes Pond shortly before 1pm Monday. The area was about half a mile from the couple’s home.
Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier said: "At no time did the Solomon have any history of domestic abuse. I want to make myself absolutely clear, at this point that has nothing to do with this case. We believe this case is a tragic murder-suicide that occurred and we still have plenty of work to do as far as wrapping up all the pieces to this." A gun was found near Karen Solomon's body, police said, as per CBS News.
Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police force, was found dead at their Wildwood Avenue home just before 5:30am Tuesday. His wife, Karen went missing around the same time and was last seen walking in the area wearing pajama shorts and a tank top. Police said she was "presumed to be armed and dangerous" and launched an extensive, multi-day search for her.
