Cleanliness drive to be part of BJP’s Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan

BJP President Nitin Nabin on Sunday met the party’s new national office-bearers to discuss preparations for the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long campaign which will kick off on September 17 to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in power.
“Since sewa or service has been synonymous with Modi ji’s stints in power as PM, and earlier as Chief Minister of Gujarat, it would be the theme of the Abhiyan,” said a national office-bearer of the party who did not wish to be named.

The party’s national office-bearers had met on Saturday as well following which the PM held an interaction with them in the evening.
Party general secretary Vinod Tawde had told reporters about the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, saying it would coincide with the “Seva Pakhwada” that the BJP observes across the country to mark the birthday of PM Modi on September 17. He had said that October 7 will mark the completion of 25 years since Modi first took the oath as Gujarat CM.
The party on Saturday also passed a resolution to uphold the “honour, dignity, legacy and national status of the complete Vande Mataram”, condemning the Congress’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of the National Song.
The BJP also announced that it will launch a campaign to take the legacy and significance of Vande Mataram across the country. At the start of the meeting, the party office-bearers recited all six stanzas of the National Song.
