Bhiwandi: Ahead of the upcoming Ganeshotsav, Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) Commissioner Anmol Sagar inspected the Tadali pond and Varala devi pond in Kamatghar to review preparations and facilities for the immersion of Ganesh idols.
The civic administration has stepped up preparations at designated immersion sites in view of the festival, which will be celebrated from September 14 to 25 September 2026.
Commissioner Checks Water Quality, Cleanliness And Immersion Ghat Conditions
During his inspection of the Tadali pond, Sagar reviewed the water quality, cleanliness, safety arrangements and condition of the immersion ghats. He directed the concerned officials and engineers to complete all pending repair work without delay and ensure adequate lighting around the pond premises.

The Commissioner also instructed officials to install sturdy safety barricades to ensure the safety of devotees during idol immersion, particularly in view of the large crowds expected during the festival.
Local Representatives Discuss Traffic And Crowd Management Plans
During the inspection, Corporator Kamalakar Patil discussed local requirements with the Commissioner, including arrangements for managing the expected rush and ensuring proper traffic management during the immersion period.
Sandeep Patanwar, Executive Engineer, Water Supply Department, and Uddhav Gawade, Deputy Engineer, briefed the Commissioner about the deployment of technical personnel at the immersion site, emergency rescue teams and arrangements for drinking water.
Varala Devi Pond Also Reviewed For Ganeshotsav Arrangements
Sagar subsequently inspected the Varala devi pond in Kamatghar, where he reviewed the condition of the immersion ghats, water quality, sanitation, lighting and other safety measures.
He directed the officials to complete all necessary works within the stipulated time so that devotees do not face inconvenience during the immersion process.
The BNMC administration said preparations are being undertaken with a focus on public safety, cleanliness and environmentally responsible celebrations. Officials have been directed to ensure that all essential facilities are in place before the commencement of the festival.
The civic administration is expected to closely monitor the designated immersion points during the festival to ensure smooth movement of devotees and safe immersion operations.
