Model Asim Riaz and Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana met and fell in love on Bigg Boss 13 in 2019. After being in a relationship for four years, the couple broke up in 2023. Recently, in a podcast with Paras Chhabra, Himanshi Khurana spoke about their breakup and said it was due to a difference in religious beliefs and his demand that she convert to Islam, which led to them to part ways. In 2023, Asim also confirmed that the breakup was mutual due to their different religious beliefs.

In a recent conversation with Bigg Boss 13 fellow contestant Paras Chhabra, Himanshi said, “He used to tell me the good things about his religion. Everyone tells you about those things; there is nothing wrong with that. They wanted me to understand it and accept it, but it was not acceptable to me. There was nothing wrong with him; he never misbehaved with me, but it was my own choice that I did not want to do something like that.”

“I felt like I was betraying my God. I felt I wouldn’t be able to do this anymore. So I said I want to visit Char Dham and all the pilgrimages before that, because after that I would never be able to meet them. It was like I was saying goodbye. The fact that this question even arose was a big thing – why did I feel like I was saying goodbye to my God?” Himanshi added.

Asim Riaz reacts to Himanshi Khurana’s claims of being asked to convert

Days after Himanshi’s comments went viral, Asim Riaz took to social media and explained, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me; before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”

He further wrote on Instagram, “And when it came to my career, I never needed anyone to build it for me or claim credit for what they never contributed. Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But money was never the measure of character. Character is how far you’re willing to fall when you’re desperate for attention, relevance, or a few more views. Years later, digging through old relationships and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about.”

Asim went on to slam Paras and wrote, “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym.”

Asim Riaz says Himanshi Khurana wanted to reconcile

Not only on Instagram, but Asim Riaz also put out strong-worded messages on X against Himanshi. He tweeted, “Bad relationship- thyroid, anxiety, depression, nosebleed, face old, Smell from hair, face acne. So why did you message me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship? Don’t worry, I have the message screenshot; if needed, I will post it next time.”

On the work front, Asim Riaz was last seen as a judge on the sports reality show Playground. He also appeared on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 in 2024 but walked out after a fallout with host Rohit Shetty. Besides that, Asim continues to produce independent music. Himanshi Khurana has been actively working in the Punjabi industry; she was last seen in the psychological thriller Haan Main Pagal Haan, which was released on OTT last year.
