Navi Mumbai :- In a major crackdown on unauthorized construction, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation took swift action today, demolishing two illegal structures in the Turbhe area.
The operation, conducted under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation’s Encroachment Department, aimed to regain control over illegal constructions and encroachments in the municipal area. Today, the authorities targeted two such structures.
One of the structures, located at Pimplapada, Sanpada, was registered under the name of Ms. Vanita Ashok Patil. This unauthorized construction covered an area of approximately 9.40 meters by 6.00 meters, consisting of two floors and an RCC construction. According to the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, this construction was issued a notice under Section 53(1)(a) and provided a 24-hour notice period for compliance. However, construction had already commenced at this location, prompting the Municipal Corporation to take action.
Similarly, another unauthorized structure at Sanpada, registered under the names of Vilas Bhoir, Dilip Bhoir, Manoj Bhoir, and Anil Bhoir, occupied an area of approximately 10.00 meters by 8.60 meters. This construction involved the RCC slab of the ground floor and had begun work on the first floor. It, too, received a notice under Section 53(1)(a) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.
In both cases, the Turbhe department of the Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of Dr. Rahul Gethe, the Deputy Commissioner of Encroachment Department, and with the assistance of Shri. Bharat Dhande, the Deputy Commissioner of Turbhe, spearheaded the demolition efforts. The operation also involved the deployment of police personnel and 10 laborers, along with the use of a JCB and an electric hammer for demolition.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has announced its commitment to intensify efforts against unauthorized constructions across all departments in the near future. This operation underscores the municipality’s determination to address the issue of illegal construction and encroachments effectively.
