Navi Mumbai :- In a recent development, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has successfully demolished an unauthorized one-story structure in Ghansoli. The construction, located within the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Department Office in Ghansoli, was carried out without obtaining any prior approvals.
The individuals responsible for this unauthorized construction have been identified as Gajanan Motiram Keni (landowner) and Mohammad Mumtaz Ansari (developer). Notably, they had initiated the construction without acquiring any necessary permits from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
The unauthorized construction came under the scrutiny of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act of 1966, specifically under Section 54. Notices were issued, prompting the individuals involved to voluntarily remove the unauthorized structure. However, they continued with the construction at the site.
In an effort to address this issue, Navi Mumbai’s Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, and Dr. Rahul Gethe, Deputy Commissioner of Encroachments, along with the Ghansoli Department officials, and local police officers initiated a comprehensive campaign to ensure the removal of the unauthorized construction. With the assistance of eight laborers and heavy equipment, the entire structure was successfully demolished.
As a punitive measure, a fine of Rs. 50,000 has been imposed on the individuals responsible for the unauthorized construction. Furthermore, it is expected that stringent action against encroachments will continue in the future, with a commitment to maintaining the city’s urban planning and development regulations.
