Unauthorized Construction Actions Initiated by Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation

Mira Bhayandar :- In a significant move, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has launched a crackdown on unauthorized constructions within its jurisdiction. This enforcement action, led by MBMC’s Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Mr. Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar, aims to curb illegal construction activities that have been rampant in various parts of the city.

On October 4, 2023, MBMC’s Ward Committee No. 03 initiated action against several unauthorized construction projects in its jurisdiction, with the assistance of the local police and civic authorities. This proactive stance by the municipal corporation comes after Mr. Katkar issued directives to crack down on illegal construction activities across different zones of the city.

As per these directives, the enforcement teams are taking action against unauthorized constructions, illegal CCTV installations, unauthorized ferries, garages, commercial establishments on footpaths, illegal hotels/bars, unauthorized billboards, and slum encroachments within the municipal limits.

Specifically, the following locations saw significant demolition:

  1. Jesal Park Railway Parallel Road: Three illegal constructions were demolished in this area.
  2. Goddev Phatak, Bhayandar Criticare Hospital: A construction project obstructing a public road was taken down.
  3. Khari Gaon, Near MBMC’s Drainage Shed: An unauthorized structure located over a municipal drain was demolished.
  4. Navghar Road, Near Bhayandar East Police Station: A cricket turf construction was removed with the guidance of Mr. Katkar and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachments) Mr. Maruti Gaikwad.

The enforcement actions were executed under the supervision of various officials, including Department Head Mr. Narendra Chavan, Asst. Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Kamble, Junior Engineer Mr. Yogesh Bhoir, Mr. Sanjay Soni, Clerk Mr. Satish Sule, Mr. Vasanth Pendhare, and Mr. Dhamma Lokhare from the Encroachment Department. Additionally, police officers and personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force were present during these operations.

These actions represent MBMC’s commitment to maintaining the city’s urban landscape and ensuring that unauthorized constructions do not disrupt the city’s infrastructure and public spaces. It sends a clear message to individuals and entities engaging in unauthorized construction that the municipal corporation is dedicated to enforcing building regulations and preserving the city’s integrity.
