Mira Bhayandar :- The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of Commissioner and Administrator Sanjay Shreepatraw Katkar, is set to organize a special cleanliness campaign in the city from October 16 to October 27, 2023. The campaign aims to engage various authorities and employees in an extensive effort to enhance the cleanliness of the city.
The campaign will address a wide range of cleanliness issues within the city. This includes cleaning the streets, removing debris, taking action against the use of plastic waste, ensuring proper waste disposal, inspecting and notifying property owners about waste management, and maintaining the cleanliness of cremation grounds. Food vendors have been directed to maintain hygiene and cleanliness by placing bins and handwashing facilities.
Efforts will also be made to prevent waterlogging and litter accumulation on the streets. This involves cleaning up stormwater drains, maintaining cleanliness in public restrooms, and ensuring compliance with civic hygiene regulations.
Public awareness is a key component of this campaign. It will involve the placement of stickers and posters at bus stops, as well as conducting awareness campaigns on waste segregation. Public statues will be cleaned, illegal hoardings will be removed, and footpaths will be repaired.
The campaign will also address issues related to public safety and infrastructure. This includes addressing road safety concerns, dealing with electrical boards that are open and unsafe, and coordinating with police to address issues with overloaded vehicles on the roads.
Efforts to maintain the city’s aesthetics are part of the campaign, involving the repair of broken fences, removal of litter and plastic covers from trees, and the installation of new tents on damaged structures. The campaign will also address issues in the vegetable market and encourage vendors to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the vicinity.
Furthermore, the campaign emphasizes the importance of maintaining cleanliness in healthcare facilities, including hospitals, and making necessary improvements. Schools are not exempt from this effort, as they will be encouraged to educate students about waste segregation, plastic bans, and cleanliness in the surroundings.
The Special Cleanliness Campaign in Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation will run from October 16 to October 27, 2023. It encourages the active participation of responsible citizens and aligns with the vision of creating a cleaner and healthier city. Commissioner and Administrator Sanjay Shreepatraw Katkar (IAS) invites citizens to join hands with the municipal corporation in this noble cause.
