Maximum Pledges for Organ Donation Recorded in Palghar District
Palghar :- The “Ayushman Bhav” initiative for organ donation and awareness achieved a significant milestone as Palghar district became the first in the state to lead the campaign.
Under the ambitious “Ayushman Bhav” campaign, launched by the Central Government, a grand inauguration took place at the Palghar Rural Hospital on September 13, 2023. The campaign, which ran from September 17, 2023, to October 2, 2023, included activities such as organizing blood donation camps, promoting hygiene, and spreading awareness about organ donation. Citizens also pledged their support for organ donation through the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) online platform, emphasizing the importance of this noble cause.
To encourage organ donation pledges, Dr. Santosh Chaudhari, the District Health Officer, rallied healthcare workers across the district to participate actively and contribute to this noble cause.
So far, Palghar district has recorded a remarkable 1697 online pledges from its citizens, demonstrating their commitment to saving lives through organ donation.
The efforts of the Health Department received accolades from Mr. Prakash Nikam, the President of the District Council, Mr. Pankaj Kore, Health Commissioner of Maharashtra, Mr. Sandesh Dhon, Health Association President, and other dignitaries.
As part of the “Ayushman Bhav” initiative, the next three months will witness health camps organized every Saturday until December 31, 2021, across healthcare institutions. These camps will offer health check-ups, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cancer screenings, tuberculosis tests, maternal and child health services, sickle cell disease testing, and eye examinations. The Health Department has provided detailed information on these health camps for the public.
Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of these health camps available at their nearest healthcare centers. Chief Executive Officer Bhanudas Palve has extended this invitation to the citizens.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana, in collaboration with the “Ayushman Golden Card” initiative, is set to provide health benefits to eligible beneficiaries. The process of issuing Golden Cards has already commenced, and all beneficiaries are urged to collect their cards through the Health Department.
The “Ayushman Bhav” campaign in Palghar district marks a significant step toward promoting organ donation and fostering a culture of health and well-being among its citizens.
