Palghar :- Under the visionary initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the “My Soil, My Country” campaign is being conducted nationwide to focus on development and uphold the sanctity of one’s homeland. It’s a tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and protection of our motherland. On October 12, 2023, Vasai Panchayat Council organized the Amrut Kalash Yatra of Dhol Tashas as part of this campaign.
In this campaign, every village and city across the country will collect soil in Amrut Kalash (sacred urns) from their own regions. These urns will be brought to Delhi, where they will be used to construct an “Amrut Vatika” – a symbol of unity and patriotism. It’s a symbolic gesture of repaying the debt we owe to the land where we were born. India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aspires to become self-reliant by 2030.
To achieve this ambitious goal, it is imperative for every citizen to contribute actively. The responsibility of executing these plans at the grassroots level falls on local representatives, from village panchayats to district councils. This shared vision was passionately expressed by Vasai Panchayat Council member Rajesh Patil. He urged everyone to make this dream a reality by wholeheartedly participating in the campaign.
As part of the celebration of the “Amrut Mahotsav,” the year of freedom, the central government initiated the “My Soil, My Country” campaign. Under this initiative, Vasai Panchayat Council has encouraged all gram panchayats in the taluka to collect soil in Amrut Kalash and join the Amrut Kalash Yatra of Dhol Tashas. This journey led to the Vasai Panchayat Council, where a ceremony was held in honor of the campaign.
The event witnessed the presence of key officials such as Group Development Officer Sangita Bhagare, council members Savita Patil, Gita Patil, Shubhangi Tumbde, and Vanita Tandel, former president Sanjay Mhatre, and all sarpanchs and upa-sarpanchs. The program included a solemn oath-taking ceremony by all the participants.
Sangita Bhagare, the Group Development Officer, presented the formal welcome, while Nitin Mokashi, the Village Development Officer, coordinated the proceedings. The event was graced by Sudam Ingale, the Extension Officer (Panchayat). A large number of panchayat officials and staff attended the event.
This campaign symbolizes the spirit of unity and the collective effort to realize the dream of a self-reliant India by 2030, a dream cherished by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It highlights the crucial role local representatives play in making this dream come true. The event emphasized the importance of community participation and commitment to the country’s development and self-sufficiency.
As India celebrates the “Amrut Mahotsav,” this campaign serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to build a self-reliant nation, and it encourages every citizen to contribute their share to this noble cause.
