Palghar :- In accordance with the declaration made by the United Nations, October 13th is observed annually as Disaster Risk Reduction Day at both the state and district levels, focusing on disaster management and preparedness. The National Disaster Management Authority had set a pledge in the year 2023 to make citizens accountable for disaster response. In this regard, a program to take the oath was organized in all government offices, including the District Disaster Management Authority, and the District Collector’s office. Following this initiative, Palghar District Council administered the oath for disaster management.
The event witnessed the presence of key officials, including Deputy Executive Officer Sharadchandra Mali, Deputy Executive Officer Chandrashekhar Jagtap, Education Officer (Secondary) Sangeeta Bhagwat, and Assistant District Health Officer Dr. Salunke.
At this juncture, district council officials and staff were also present, underscoring the significance of disaster management and the commitment to disaster risk reduction.
