Navi Mumbai :- In a significant move towards promoting public health, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation recently organized a health check-up camp under the ‘Ayushman Bhav’ initiative. The camp, which commenced on September 17, 2023, as part of a nationwide campaign, aims to provide healthcare services across various levels.
The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ initiative was inaugurated by the Honorable President, Draupadi Murmu, on September 13, and it has now found its way to Navi Mumbai under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar. Dr. Prashant Javade, the Chief Medical Officer, led the initiative by motivating all healthcare officials and employees to pledge their commitment to the cause.
The overarching goal of ‘Ayushman Bhav’ is to ensure robust health for all through a series of health services offered through various mediums. The campaign is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services, including Ayurveda, mental health support, geriatric care, oral health, eye, ear, nose, and throat care, counseling services, yoga, wellness programs, free medicines, laboratory testing, and teleconsultation.
Under the banner of “Healthy Youth, Prosperous Maharashtra,” the initiative also targets the health of 18-year-old males, focusing on parameters such as height, weight, diabetes, blood pressure, hemoglobin, anemia, and skin cancer screening. Additionally, counseling on tobacco, gutka, cigarettes, and alcohol addiction is provided.
On October 7, maternal and child health and nutrition services were conducted at local health centers. The camp has already seen the participation of 1449 expectant mothers and 1076 children who underwent various health assessments. These assessments encompassed weight monitoring, diabetes screening, blood pressure checks, hemoglobin levels, and more. Importantly, essential guidance on breastfeeding, nutrition, and child growth was also dispensed.
As part of the upcoming phases of the ‘Ayushman Bhav’ health camps, citizens are urged to actively participate, ensuring that a substantial number of people benefit from the comprehensive healthcare services. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, encourages residents to take advantage of the health check-ups available at nearby primary health centers.
This health campaign reflects the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s commitment to improving the well-being of its residents, aligning with the broader national ‘Ayushman Bhav’ mission.
