Mira Bhayandar :- The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS), inaugurated the “Senior Citizens Program 2023-24” today, marking the commencement of various activities aimed at honoring and engaging the elderly population in the community.
The program was inaugurated on October 6, 2023, in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS), Additional Commissioner Sambhaji Panpatte, Deputy Commissioner Kalpita Pimpale, Social Development Officer Dipali Powar, and municipal employees. The Senior Citizens Day was celebrated from October 4th to 6th, 2023, with a range of competitions and events meticulously planned by the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner and his team.
The “Senior Citizens Program 2023-24,” organized by the Social Development Department of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, featured events such as a Fun Marathon, Quiz Competition, Singing Contest, Dance Performance, and Entertainment activities under the banner of “Amritlata.” Winners of these competitions were awarded certificates and tokens of appreciation.
This initiative encouraged active participation from citizens aged 60 to 75 years, showcasing their enthusiasm and talent in various contests. Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar emphasized that everyone who participated was a winner in their own right, and their dedication was commendable.
Looking ahead, the Municipal Commissioner also called upon all senior citizens to actively contribute to the cleanliness, beauty, and health of the city and its surroundings. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the community and the municipal corporation to drive awareness campaigns for a cleaner and healthier environment.
Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS) extended his gratitude to all participants and urged senior citizens to continue their active involvement in future initiatives for the betterment of the community.
