Mira Bhayandar, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, witnessed the immersion of Ganesha idols in both natural and artificial water bodies. A total of 8,307 idols were immersed, spreading across various locations.
- In natural ponds and the sea, 7,733 Ganesha idols found their final resting place.
- Artificial ponds welcomed 385 idols.
- In artificial lakes, a significant 2,992 idols were immersed.
- Artificial ponds exclusively designed for the occasion saw the immersion of 81 idols.
- Natural ponds within the city limits accommodated 2,472 idols.
Meticulous Planning and Execution
The successful execution of this eco-friendly immersion was a result of meticulous planning and coordination. Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Shreepatrav Katkar along with other officials, personally oversaw the process at key immersion sites.
