Bhayander :- In a recent development, Senior Police Inspector Milind Desai of Navghar faced the consequences of negligence in the case of unauthorized banners featuring former controversial MLA Narendra Mehta of Mira-Bhayander. Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey has imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on Inspector Desai.
The unauthorized banners were erected by Seven Square Academic to extend birthday wishes to Mehta, and it was social worker Krishna Gupta who initially filed a complaint regarding their presence. The case, however, took an unexpected turn when it was only four months later that Navghar Police decided to register the case, acting on a complaint filed by Ward Officer Kanchan Gaikwad. During this time lapse, crucial evidence was lost, and the police failed to make any substantial progress in their investigation.
Due to the apparent reluctance of the police to act swiftly and efficiently, Commissioner Pandey took the unprecedented step of imposing a financial penalty on Senior Police Inspector Desai. This action serves as a reminder of the importance of prompt and thorough law enforcement, especially in cases that involve potential violations of regulations.
Mehta, a former MLA known for his controversial history, has been the subject of much public scrutiny, and unauthorized banners only added to the controversy surrounding him. The case has now garnered renewed attention with the imposition of the fine on Inspector Desai.
The incident underscores the need for law enforcement agencies to act swiftly in addressing public complaints and ensuring the timely investigation of alleged violations. In the eyes of the public, such actions are vital for maintaining trust and confidence in the police force.
