Remembering the First Revolutionary of Maharashtra in the Fight for India’s Independence
Palghar :- The Palghar Zilla Parishad was bathed in an aura of reverence and homage as the birth anniversary of the illustrious freedom fighter, Raje Umaji Naik, was celebrated with great fervor. On this momentous occasion, Additional Chief Executive Officer Ravindra Shinde and Project Director Avinash Sanas paid their respects by garlanding the image of the valiant leader.
Umaji Naik, born on September 7, 1971, and departed on February 3, 1834, holds a special place in the annals of Indian history as the first revolutionary from Maharashtra who boldly battled the British colonial rule, paving the way for India’s eventual independence. While many historical events have shaped India’s destiny, some were meticulously documented, while others faded into obscurity. Umaji Naik, however, stands as a beacon of resistance and courage even before the watershed moment of the 1857 uprising.
The birth anniversary celebrations of this great patriot served as a poignant reminder of his unparalleled contributions to the struggle for independence.
Dr. Hassanalkar, the District Animal Husbandry Officer, enlightened the gathered audience about the remarkable life and legacy of Raje Umaji Naik. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed officials, including Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Dhanraj Pandey, Education Officer (Secondary) Sangita Bhagwat, Atty. District Health Officer Dr. Salunkhe, and other dedicated officers and employees.
This commemoration not only honors the memory of Raje Umaji Naik but also reignites the spirit of patriotism, reminding us all of the sacrifices made by countless heroes in the pursuit of India’s freedom. The celebration at Palghar Zilla Parishad served as a tribute to the indomitable spirit of those who dared to dream of a free India.
