Navi Mumbai :- As the nation commemorates the spirit of freedom during the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of Independence, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is launching an inspiring campaign called ‘My Soil, My Nation.’ This campaign aims to express love for our motherland and honor the dedication of our brave soldiers. It’s a novel initiative that will resonate across the entire nation.
Under this initiative, the first step involves the installation of memorial plaques with the names of local martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, following the guidance of the central government. This will be followed by a collective oath-taking ceremony, the creation of an ‘Amrit Garden’ planting 75 indigenous trees as a tribute, flag hoisting, and various other events, all aimed at fostering patriotism.
One remarkable aspect of this campaign is the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra,’ where residents from every corner of Navi Mumbai will collect a small amount of soil from their homes and unite it in a single urn. This unifying gesture will be conducted in all eight municipal department offices throughout the region. Citizens will take an oath, paying tribute to our brave soldiers and collecting soil from house to house. These urns filled with soil will then be brought together at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters. The soil from these eight urns will be sent to Mumbai as a symbol of unity and respect for our motherland.
Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Municipal Commissioner, has convened a special committee to oversee this task, ensuring that the soil collection process is conducted festively, including traditional music performances. The department offices are to complete the task by September 22nd, with the collected soil to be sent to Mumbai shortly after.
This initiative, where soil from every village and city in the country is gathered and presented to the capital, is expected to foster a sense of unity and deepen the love for our motherland. It will serve as a reminder of the sacrifices of our heroes and instill a sense of gratitude and respect in our hearts.
Navi Mumbai residents, both aware and informed, are enthusiastically participating in the ‘My Soil, My Nation’ campaign. They are invited to contribute a small amount of soil or rice to the ‘Amrit Kalash’ and, more importantly, to express their love for the nation and pay homage to our martyrs. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, has called upon all citizens to join this initiative and convey their love for their homeland and respect for our brave soldiers.
