Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Takes Concrete Steps to Alleviate Parking Woes

Navi Mumbai :- In a concerted effort to address the persistent parking challenges faced by the city, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has embarked on a comprehensive plan under the leadership of Commissioner Shri Rajesh Narvekar. This initiative involves meticulous department-wise micro-planning, close collaboration with the Traffic Police Department, and a focus on optimizing available parking spaces.

Multi-Storied Parking Solution at Sector 15A CBD

One noteworthy achievement of this endeavor is the construction of a multi-storied parking building at Sector 15A CBD, designed to accommodate 121 two-wheelers and 396 four-wheelers. Given the bustling nature of this area, replete with offices and commercial establishments, this facility promises to provide substantial relief to the city’s parking conundrum.

Expanding Parking Capacities through PPP

Expanding parking infrastructure is a capital-intensive undertaking. To surmount this challenge, NMMC has turned to Public Private Partnerships (PPP) for sustainable solutions. Two prime plots, spanning 6900 sq.m. in Sector 15, CBD Belapur, and 11,000 sq.m. in Sector 30 Vashi, are earmarked for parking system development. The Corporation, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shri Rajesh Narvekar, is diligently working on these projects, which are anticipated to provide a significant boost to the city’s parking capabilities.

Transparent Planning and Financial Advisors

NMMC has demonstrated transparency in its planning processes by appointing financial advisors through a rigorous selection process. Recognized organizations have responded positively to the Corporation’s call for financial advisors. These advisors will play a crucial role in strategizing and executing parking plans on a PPP basis.

Commitment to Modern Parking Solutions

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is steadfast in its commitment to providing a contemporary parking system to its residents. The utilization of PPP principles not only ensures the availability of parking spaces to a wider audience but also conserves the Corporation’s resources.

Municipal Commissioner Shri Rajesh Narvekar has called upon citizens to play their part in this endeavor by parking their vehicles in designated spots. Frequent review meetings are being conducted to streamline the process and overcome any obstacles that may arise.

Navi Mumbai is on the cusp of a parking revolution, driven by the vision of NMMC and Commissioner Shri Rajesh Narvekar, aimed at making urban life more convenient for its residents.
