Navi Mumbai:- In a spectacular display of community engagement and enthusiasm for cleanliness, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation achieved a remarkable milestone in the ‘Indian Swachhta League 2.0.’ Their dedicated team, ‘Navi Mumbai Eco Nights,’ is poised to maintain its national ranking for the highest youth participation in this prestigious event. A series of activities have been organized since September 12 to uphold their reputation.
A staggering 183,144 students hailing from 431 municipal and private schools within the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation enthusiastically registered and participated in a school-level clean painting competition. This impressive feat earned them a place in the ‘Best of India Records,’ and the Indian examiner of Best of India Records, the renowned international sportsperson Shri. B.B. Nayak, awarded the certificate of participation to more than 100,000 students. Municipal Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Narvekar had the honor of presenting these awards.
The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed officials, including Additional Commissioner Mr. Sujata Dhole, Deputy Commissioner of Administration Department Mr. Vijayakumar Mhasal, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Department Dr. Babasaheb Rajle, City Engineer Shri. Sanjay Desai, Chief Accounts & Finance Officer Shri. Satyawan Ubale, Deputy Commissioner of Education Department Mr. Dattatraya Ghanwat, among others.
The clean painting competition was divided into three categories: 1st to 4th, 5th to 8th, and 9th to 10th grades. A multitude of students displayed their artistic talents and showcased their vision of cleanliness through their artwork. Exciting prizes will be awarded to the best paintings.
Known for its reputation as a clean city, Navi Mumbai has consistently exhibited a strong commitment to cleanliness among its students. Their active participation in various cleanliness initiatives has been commendable. This painting competition allowed them to channel their passion for cleanliness into their creative expressions, resulting in a massive turnout of students from every school in Navi Mumbai. The overwhelming enthusiasm was so noteworthy that it caught the attention of the national record-keeping organization, Best of India Records.
