Navi Mumbai :- In an effort to promote health and well-being among its citizens, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has initiated a series of Yoga Training Sessions at 23 Civil Primary Health Centers across the region. This initiative, undertaken in accordance with government guidelines under the National Urban Health Mission, aims to provide accessible yoga sessions to employees of primary health centers, pregnant mothers, and individuals with non-communicable diseases.
Under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner Shri. Rajesh Narvekar, these yoga sessions commenced on September 1, 2023, and are set to make a significant impact on the health and wellness of the community. The primary goal of these sessions is to empower individuals to take charge of their own health and lead healthier lives.
Each Civil Primary Health Center will conduct five yoga sessions every month, following a specific schedule. One session will be dedicated to the staff of the health center, two sessions will be tailored for pregnant mothers in the area, and the remaining two sessions will cater to citizens dealing with non-communicable diseases and other patients.
To ensure the effectiveness and quality of these yoga sessions, trained yoga teachers have been carefully selected and employed. The initiative has received the full support of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, who emphasized the importance of this program in enhancing public health.
This initiative reflects the NMMC’s commitment to both providing patient care and promoting health among the citizens of Navi Mumbai. By offering accessible and professionally conducted yoga training, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation aims to contribute to the overall well-being of its community members.
As these yoga sessions continue to roll out across the city, Navi Mumbai residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their health and embrace a more balanced and holistic lifestyle.
