Navi Mumbai :- In a bid to promote cleanliness and youth participation in building waste-free cities, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is gearing up for the second edition of the ‘Indian Cleanliness League.’ This initiative, aligned with the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission,’ aims to instill a sense of responsibility for a ‘Waste Free India.’
With more than 4,000 cities across India participating in this inter-city competition, Navi Mumbai, which clinched the top spot for youth participation last year, is set to maintain its reputation under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar.
In an effort to kickstart this year’s campaign, various activities have been organized since September 12. The highlight of this endeavor will be the ‘Digital Pledge of Cleanliness’ event scheduled for September 16, 2023, at Wonders Park in Sector 19A Nerul, a beloved attraction in Navi Mumbai.
To encourage maximum participation, the NMMC has announced a “Free Entry for One Day” to Wonders Park during its operating hours from 7 am to 10 pm on September 16. At the main entrance of the park, digital swearing devices will be set up to facilitate the pledge-taking process. It is expected that more than 25,000 citizens will converge at Wonders Park to take the digital cleanliness oath on this special day.
Navi Mumbai residents of all ages, including students, youth, women’s savings groups, voluntary organizations, community leaders, and citizens, young and old alike, are invited to join in on September 16, 2023. This day presents an opportunity for families and friends to visit Wonders Park, pledge for cleanliness, and revel in the natural beauty of this cherished locale.
The NMMC, led by Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, has taken this initiative to emphasize cleanliness as a defining characteristic of Navi Mumbai. As the city readies itself to host ‘Indian Cleanliness League 2,’ the enthusiasm and commitment of its citizens are poised to make this campaign a resounding success.
Mark your calendars for September 16, 2023, and be part of the movement to build a cleaner, waste-free Navi Mumbai.
