Navi Mumbai :– In a bid to foster a sense of national unity and pay tribute to the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has inaugurated the “Amrut Kalash Yatra” as part of the ongoing celebrations of the Amrit Mahotsav of Indian Independence. The event, titled “Majhi Mati Maza Desh,” which translates to “My Land, My Country,” has garnered tremendous enthusiasm nationwide.
The inaugural ceremony featured various unique programs such as “Vasudha Vandana,” “Shilafalakam,” “Panchpran Shapath,” and honoring the families of martyrs. In the second phase of this initiative, an “Amrut Kalash Yatra” aims to collect soil from every household in Navi Mumbai, which will then be used to create a grand kalash (vessel) at the state level in Mumbai. This kalash will ultimately be sent to the national capital, Delhi, to create the “Amrit Vatika” in honor of our martyrs.
Mr. Rajesh Narwekar, Municipal Commissioner, has called upon all department offices to actively participate in this historic initiative. Citizens are encouraged to contribute by collecting soil from their homes, even if it is symbolic, and by notifying the authorities if there are any locations where soil collection is not feasible.
The “Amrut Kalash Yatra” will be conducted with great fervor, featuring traditional attire and the participation of both male and female citizens. It symbolizes the unity of people from diverse states and regions residing in Navi Mumbai, aptly termed “Mini Bharat” or “Mini India.”
This initiative not only seeks to promote national unity but also express gratitude to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Every citizen is invited to enthusiastically participate in this national endeavor and contribute to the “Amrut Kalash Yatra.”
Mr. Vijaykumar Mhasal, Additional Commissioner, will oversee the proceedings of this departmental Amrut Kalash Yatra. Regular updates and guidelines regarding the program will be provided by the departmental offices under the leadership of Mr. Mangala Malve.
The “Majhi Mati Maza Desh” initiative, spearheaded by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, aims to strengthen the sense of national identity and inspire citizens to dedicate themselves to the nation’s protection. It is a call for every citizen to take part actively in the “Amrut Kalash Yatra,” adding a small piece of their land to this grand national event. This call to action, delivered by Mr. Rajesh Narwekar, Municipal Commissioner, invites all citizens to join in this spirited endeavor.
