Navi Mumbai :- In a remarkable achievement, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has garnered significant recognition at the district level of the National Children’s Science Council, organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This achievement underscores the dedication and exceptional efforts put forth by the students of 25 schools under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
The National Children’s Science Council, a part of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, recently registered 424 science projects at the taluka level in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. Among these projects, a total of 283 have been selected for district-level competition. These projects encompass a wide range of topics, including health and hygiene, environmental conservation, renewable energy, agriculture, food security, and disaster management.
What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is the involvement of educational organizations like Learning Links Foundation and WUS United Communities, who introduced the “WUS Think Big Space” program in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools. This initiative, forwarded to the National Children’s Science Council, led to the selection of 75 projects from students in grades 6 to 8, representing the district at the state level.
The Jignasa Trust, a 23-year-old organization dedicated to child science, is hosting the council from December 27 to 31, 2023, at the district level. During this event, the 75 science projects from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools will be showcased.
This remarkable achievement by the students of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools not only demonstrates their commitment to enhancing scientific perspectives but also serves as a testament to the quality of education and guidance provided by teachers and institutions. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, extends his congratulations to the students, teachers, and institutions for their outstanding performance at the district level of the National Children’s Science Council.
