Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, a total of 22 natural and 141 artificial immersion sites were meticulously prepared throughout the municipal area. With large-sized idols being immersed on Anant Chaturdashi, heightened vigilance was placed on all 163 immersion locations.

On Anant Chaturdashi, a workforce of 762 volunteers, 390 lifeguards, and fire brigade personnel were deployed across the 22 immersion sites. The police department played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order at these locations.

To ensure the safe immersion of larger idols, 19 forklifts and cranes were stationed at designated sites. These sites were equipped with first-aid facilities and backup power generators, ensuring a seamless experience for both devotees and the environment.

Citizens were encouraged to bring flowers, leaves, durva grass, and other offerings separately to maintain cleanliness at the natural immersion sites. The “Ole Nirmanlya” initiative allowed devotees to place these offerings in biodegradable kalashas (pots). Additionally, “Suke Nirmanlya” provided dry pots for the disposal of any non-biodegradable items. Special vehicles were arranged for collecting and disposing of these items responsibly.

One of the highlights of the Ganesh visarjan was the grand procession at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Vashi, where a substantial crowd gathered to witness the event. Adequate arrangements were made for their comfort and safety.

Thanks to the cooperation of citizens and the tireless efforts of the Municipal Corporation and the police department, this year’s Ganesh idol immersions were executed without a hitch. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, has expressed his gratitude for the exemplary teamwork displayed during the process.

As the city continues to grow, such organized events demonstrate the importance of community collaboration in maintaining the cultural vibrancy and environmental responsibility associated with festivals like Ganeshotsav.
