Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation Gears Up for Indian Swachhta League “Part 2”

Mira-Bhainder :- In a grand unveiling ceremony at Nagarbhavan, Mandali Lake, the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation announced its participation in the upcoming Indian Swachhta League Part 2. The event was presided over by the Hon’ble Commissioner, and it brought exciting news as he was elected as the captain of the Mira Bhayander Swachagrahi Sangha under the “Indian Swachha League.”

The Indian Swachhta League Part 2, which falls under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, is scheduled to take place from September 17th to October 2nd, 2023, following directives from the Central and State Governments. The competition aims to promote cleanliness and hygiene nationwide.

Last year, Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation proudly secured the top rank in the “Indian Swachhta League” competition in the population group of 3 to 10 lakh. This year, they are once again determined to clinch the first position in the “Indian Swachhta League.”

The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation team, now known as ‘Mira Bhayander Swachhagrahi,’ will be led by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (I.A.S.). The municipality’s commitment to cleanliness and hygiene is unwavering, and they are fully prepared to maintain their status as a clean city.

From September 17th to October 2nd, 2023, a variety of activities will be carried out. The Municipal Corporation has extended invitations to various schools and NGOs to participate actively. This campaign will involve representatives from political parties, citizens, and students from organizations like NCC, Scout NSS.

The activities planned for this initiative include beach clean-ups, cleaning of tourist spots, marathon runs, the maintenance of freedom fighter memorials, regular road cleaning, garbage segregation awareness, honoring cleaning staff, plastic and e-waste collection drives, and organizing school-level essay and painting competitions. Ward-wise cleanliness will also be a significant focus.

The Municipal Corporation emphasized that the participation of various departments, sanitation workers, social organizations, citizens, NCC, and journalists will be crucial in the success of this campaign.
